About drop-ins

Why: 

Drop-in classes allow you to start dancing right away. There’s no waiting for a new course round here.

They can augment your regular course and fill your week with more dancing; or they can help you keep dancing and learning whenever your schedule is unpredictable.

If you want to explore different roles, or different topics, to get a broader exposure to the dance, this is the place for you. 

What: 

Every class lasts 60 minutes and you will also get a recap video that will be available for you on your Recap page.

You’ll learn together with people from different experience levels, broadening your learning environment and strengthening the community we share.

Classes are given in English and/or German, depending on the needs of the students.

How to sign up: Payment and Registration

First you look at all the classes you can take in Heidelberg in the list below and decide which you want to take.

Then you pick the payment option you want to use and log into your SwingStep account. You can take the drop-ins with the following options:

• Free Trial Class
• Single Class ticket
• City Pass 30-day subscription

Then you select the Drop-In that you want to take from the list below and quickly sign up for it with the provided form.

You will get a confirmation E-Mail that will include the time, date and location of your class again.

When it’s time, you just show up at our studio and dance with us. We’re happy to see you.

Registration and Sign Up Details and Discounts:

Advance registration for a drop-in is necessary. You can also do it right before class.

If you don’t have a City Pass, you’ll need to book a new Single-Class ticket/s for each session you want to join.

No discounts are available for single tickets.

If you sign up for drop-in classes with a partner: you and your partner can have different payment options. For instance if you come regularly we recommend you to use a City Pass whilst your partner can still book using the Single Class payment method.

Courses

Important:  With a “City Pass” 30-day subscription, you can sign up to as many courses and drop-ins as you want. You can also purchase a single course using a 6-class package.

About courses

Why: 

Fixed courses allow you to stay on a topic to fully explore it and get progress over several weeks working together with your group. Some groups even become close friends outside the classroom.

What: 

Every course contains 60 minute classes over several weeks (most courses are six weeks long; on occasion we have special topic courses of different lengths).

You will receive a recap video per 60 min class, even if you’ve missed a class. 

Classes are given in English and/or German, depending on the needs of the students.

How to sign up: Payment and Registration:

Once you’ve signed up, you will get either get a confirmation E-Mail or a waitlist confirmation, depending on our open spots.

With the City Pass you can sign up for as many classes as you want without any additional cost.

You can sign up for courses, alone or with a partner; we’ll work to achieve a lead/follow balance for the group.

If you sign up with a partner, both you and your partner need a valid subscription or 6-class-package in order to join a course. 

You can pause or cancel your subscription any time without any fees.

Discounts are available for the City Pass subscription through our Pay-it-Forward Fund. 

Missed the first week but still want to join the course? No problem, just Sign up for the course you want to take and we will confirm your spot as soon as possible.

Online Courses

Important: The entire online program is included in the “City Pass” 30-day subscription. The Online-Pass can also be individually purchased for 29€/month.

Why: 

The online training material takes you deep into many aspects of the dance, allowing you to stay in full control of your learning time, path and pace. 

What: 

With 90+ hours of instructional videos, you get a complete consistent training from Beginner to Advanced.

You also get full access to our regular zoom activities like :

• Train Together
• Jazz Roulette
• Jazz Routine Practice
• DJ Battle

The videos are recorded in English. The live zoom sessions are given in English and/or German, depending on the needs of the students.

You can access and start learning from these videos from the moment you sign up for a “City Pass”. 

There is training you can follow with or without a partner. 

Set up the payment once and keep enjoying learning with us forever.

The online training can be combined with both drop-in lessons as well as courses as long as you have a City-Pass subscription.  

Pause or cancel any time without any fees.

Discounts are available through our Pay-it-Forward fund. 

Single Class – 15€/class

If you think you’ll use this option more than 3 times per 30 days, we highly recommend that you consider a City Pass instead.

6-Class Package

This package is a set of 6 “single tickets”. You can use all of your tickets to sign up for a single course (typically 6 weeks), or use the tickets separately for drop-in lessons. 

Our system keeps track of how many tickets you have left, whether you use them for a 3-week course and then later use them for 3 single drop-in lessons, or any other combination.

You have 4 months to use these tickets before they expire.

City Pass – 59€ per 30 days

A City Pass subscription can be booked at any time and, if it’s your first time, the free trial week starts immediately. You’ll only be charged once the trial period ends.

The moment you set up your subscription, you can join drop-ins and use the full online program, no matter when the next full course begins.

How to sign up:

You now have immediate access to the online program and a user account with SwingStep.

Step 2: While logged in to your account, sign up for the drop-ins and courses you wish to participate in.
