Aerials and Tricks
Power Moves
Day & Time: Thursday, 19:30 – 20:30
Dates: 03.04.2025 – 15.05.2025 (no classes on 24.04.)
** No Partner Rotation ** Before the course starts, you need to choose a fixed partner or small group to train with. If you choose a partner, you'll dance most of the time with that partner. If you choose a group you'll manage your own rotation within that group.
Back in the swing era, Black American dancers in Harlem took inspiration from lifts in other dance styles, from circus acts, and from their own imaginations to create high-flying and incredible airsteps.
The magic of these airsteps, and what makes them so hard to do well, is that they should have just as much flow, rhythm, and energy as the rest of your dancing.
Unlike most of our courses, in which we work on movements we can do on the social dance floor with any partner, in this course you'll be working closely with one partner (or a small group), doing the kinds of airsteps and trick moves that made Lindy Hop famous.
Time to defy gravity!
For Experienced Lindy Hoppers
This course will be fast-paced and challenging, since many airsteps are intended to be danced to fast music and blend together with other exciting movements. In order to take part, you need to be very comfortable with partnered Lindy Hop already, especially dynamic elements like fast swingouts and Charleston.
