Lindy Hop Fundamentals
Find Your Groove
Day & Time: Wednesday, 19:45 – 20:45
Dates: 22.05.2024 – 26.06.2024
We’re now ready to dig deeper into classic Lindy Hop. You’ll learn how to dance some of the most beloved classic moves, some popularised by the legendary Frankie Manning. You’ll also learn more fundamentals of leading and following in swing dancing, and dig deeper into swing music and how you can draw inspiration from it for your dancing.
The exact moves and concepts of the course will vary, based on what teachers value and think is best for you and the other students in class. Here are some common examples of what we do:
- Closed position: promenades, slingshots
- Opening up: sendouts and take-ins, passbys
- Musicality: dancing to swing melody and phrasing
Lindy Hop Fundamentals is a natural progression from the Lindy Hop Starter Kit, or several Beginner Drop-Ins, and you'll continue developing things you started there. If you’ve started dancing Lindy Hop elsewhere, this might be a great place for you to start with us; if you're not sure, just email us at [email protected].
