Role-Switching Moves
Twice the Fun
Day & Time: Wednesday, 20:15 – 21:15
Dates: 19.07.2023 – 26.07.2023
This course is all about changing it up: switching between leading and following within a single dance. Elegantly changing roles, without interrupting the flow of your dance, adds excitement and variety to your communication. As a side benefit, learning more about both roles gives you a deeper understanding of dancing in general. But the main benefit is: tons of new ways to have fun with your partner on the dance floor!
Which role should I select in the registration form?
In this course you'll be dancing in both roles. Still, it's useful for us to have an overview of which "default" roles people will have. Please select your more comfortable role. For instance, if you usually dance as a follower, then please register as a follower.
What should I already know before joining this course?
In order to join this course, you should be able to dance at least a few basics such as Tuck Turns, Passbys, and maybe a few Swing Outs, in both dance roles (for instance, via our "Learn the Other Role" course). If you're not sure whether this course is right for you, feel free to ask 🙂

Our Studio in the Ringstraße
Ringstraße 19A
69115 Heidelberg
The building is at the intersection of Ringstraße with Hildastraße, our entrance is at the north-east corner, from the Ringstraße.
The building is closed on evenings and weekends, please use the buzzer so we can let you in. Our studio is in the “souterrain” – go downstairs and follow the sound of swing music 😉
Public Transportation: many busses, streetcars, trains; stops “Hauptbahnhof”, “Ringstraße”, or “Römerkreis Süd”.
Parking: it can be a bit tricky to find parking spots, so you should plan in some extra time. There’s a little bit of free street parking available in the Ringstraße (with Parkscheibe),metred parking at Kaiserstr and Belfortstr (the metre is at Kaiserstr 60). You can also try a nearby Parkhaus: there’s the nearby Scheck-In Centre (entrance from Kleinschmidtstraße),or a bit further away the P1 (entrance from Poststraße).
Accessibility: our studio is wheelchair-accessible, but the elevator is in a locked area of the building. If you have any mobility issues please contact us in advance so that we can arrange access for you. Two bathrooms (single-cabin, non-gendered) are near our room, however the doors unfortunately may not be wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
