Solo Blues
Body & Soul
Day & Time: Tuesday, 20:15 – 21:15
Dates: 04.07.2023 – 11.07.2023
Blues dance is a family of Black American vernacular dances danced to blues music; dances within this family are linked by shared aesthetics and techniques rooted in Black American traditions and historical context.
We will work on fundamentals of Solo Blues, such as posture, weight shifts and body isolation exercises that will help you develop control. The idea is to get confident, so you can already start to discover your own style and play with basic rhythms.
Let Laura guide you through some of her favourite moves that match this awesome family of music.
This course is intended for all levels of experience. It doesn’t require any prior Solo Jazz or Blues experience. If you’ve never done any Black American dances, it might be a bit challenging, but feel free to give it a try! If you have lots of Blues dance experience, don’t worry we will still find a challenge for you to dig into 🙂
