Boost Your Solo
Jazz Workshop

Boost your Dancing and Explore Your Unique Dance Style

July 25-26, 2026

Boost is aimed at people who have at least some experience with swing and jazz dancing. New to the dance? Check out our Solo Drop-Ins or send us an email for more info

To whet your appetite, here are Kris, Laura and Adėle, dancing their choreography to “Soxtrot” by Jo Jones Sextet.

This workshop, focused on solo dancing to jazz music, offers a unique blend of classes and practice time that help you see real progress right away.

During the classes, Kris will share her latest understanding of the dance to spark new ideas. Then, in the practice sessions, she’ll provide the time and support you need to incorporate these insights into your dancing and allow you to develop your own unique style.

How does it work?

Each day starts with an hour-long class and a half-hour practice session; after that we’ll have shorter bursts, swapping back and forth between class time and practice time. The classes will inspire you with new ideas and give you specific goals to work on. The practice sessions give you time to incorporate them, and to explore further and develop your unique dance voice.

Over the weekend you’ll have nearly 8 hours of training.

Don’t miss this chance to refine your jazz dancing skills and create lasting memories with like-minded dancers!

Group Descriptions

In this group we’ll build every movement “from scratch”, with no assumptions about which moves you already know. You’ll have the time and focus to let things “click”, and fit what you’ve learned already into a bigger picture.

Note: although this is an open-level group (meaning, there are no specific prerequisites), a Boost weekend can be a pretty intense learning experience. So, if you’re completely new to jazz dancing, get ready for a bit challenge!

To join this group, you should be an experienced jazz dancer. You have a wide repertoire of moves and you’ve danced some of the classic choreographies like the Shim Sham, Trickeration, or Big Apple. You’re comfortable dancing fast, or slow, or anything in between.

In this group you’ll have the chance to dig deep and get challenged, go back to the basic elements of the dance with fresh eyes to uncover more options and develop your dance identity.

Our Studio in the Ringstraße

Ringstraße 19A
69115 Heidelberg

The building is at the intersection of Ringstraße with Hildastraße, our entrance is at the north-east corner, from the Ringstraße.

The building is closed on evenings and weekends, please use the buzzer so we can let you in. Our studio is in the “souterrain” – go downstairs and follow the sound of swing music 😉

Public Transportation: many busses, streetcars, trains; stops “Hauptbahnhof”, “Ringstraße”, or “Römerkreis Süd”.

Parking: it can be a bit tricky to find parking spots, so you should plan in some extra time. There’s a little bit of free street parking available in the Ringstraße (with Parkscheibe), metred parking at Kaiserstr and Belfortstr (the metre is at Kaiserstr 60). You can also try a nearby Parkhaus: there’s the nearby Scheck-In Centre (entrance from Kleinschmidtstraße), or a bit further away the P1 (entrance from Poststraße).

Accessibility: our studio is wheelchair-accessible, but the elevator is in a locked area of the building. If you have any mobility issues please contact us in advance so that we can arrange access for you. Two bathrooms (single-cabin, non-gendered) are near our room, however the doors unfortunately may not be wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
