Call & Response
Listen, Exchange, Play
Day & Time: Tuesday, 20:15 – 21:15
Dates: 01.07.2025 – 08.07.2025
Call and response seems so simple - a question, an answer, an exchange of ideas. But this simple concept can create magic on the dance floor. Plus it's a huge part of jazz music itself, and when you see great Lindy Hoppers improvise, calling and responding to each other and to the music, everything just fits together in a beautiful way.
But making it all fit together isn't easy - you need to be able to listen to the music, find your voice and stay true to your own movement, all while communicating clearly with your partner. In this course we'll dive into this aspect of musicality in Lindy Hop, and find new ways to create magic on the dance floor.
What should I know in order to join this course?
This class is intended for experienced Lindy Hoppers who have been dancing for at least a year. You should already have a comfortable Lindy Hop repertoire that includes tuck turns, swing outs, etc., and you should be able to dance them at a range of tempos. If you're not sure what's right for you, please ask us 🙂
