First Stops
Iconic Lindy Hop Routine
Day & Time: Wednesday, 19:45 – 20:45
Dates: 19.04.2023 – 17.05.2023
This routine is Lindy Hop at its finest! It's a fast-feet routine, combining solo and partnering, with flashy moves and great rhythm, and just filled with energy and fun. It was created in the 1930s and is so iconic that it's still regularly quoted: parts of it are regularly used in popular choreographies even today, and a few elements have become classics of social dancing too.
You will learn the full routine from scratch and get plenty of tips on how to dance it and make it feel great. We'll also spend some time training some technical aspects like fast swingouts and how to combine solo and partnered movement smoothly.
You should be very comfortable with the basic repertoire that goes into this routine:
- Swing Outs
- Charleston kicks
- Tandem Charleston
A special note on the swing outs: for this course to be comfortable for you and for the rest of the group, you should already be able to dance them easily at medium tempos.
If you're not really comfortable with these elements before joining the course, it will probably be too challenging for you. If you're not sure, just send an email and ask us 🙂
