Spin the Leader
Anchoring for Turns
Day & Time: Wednesday, 19:00 – 20:00
Dates: 20.08.2025 – 20.08.2025
Leaders, tired of watching your partner do all the cool spins?
Followers, are you getting dizzy?
Let's flip it around!
Leaders: in this class, you'll create opportunities for your own fancy turns. With a little technique and exploration, you can find moments to really shine.
Followers: in this class, you'll learn how you can create anchoring for your partner, to help them get momentum for their turn. And you'll work on the subtle art of maintaining flow, making sure your dance doesn't stop just because the leader is doing something different, and of course adding your own little spice to each moment too 😉
To join this course, you should have a solid Lindy Hop foundation. You have a wide repertoire of moves, and you have a lot of experience social dancing and adjusting to lots of different partners. For example if you usually join our "LifelongLearning" courses, you'll have the experience you need.
If you're not sure if this course is right for you, just ask us 🙂

Here’s where Spin the Leader takes place:
SwingStation Kurfürsten-Anlage 58
69115 Heidelberg
The entrance is on the eastern side of the building, reachable from the Kurfürsten-Anlage itself or from the Kirchstraße. Our studio is on the ground floor, at the end of the hall.
Public Transportation: many busses, streetcars, trains; stops “Hauptbahnhof” or “Stadtwerke”.
Parking: please do not park in the yard, the parking spaces don’t belong to us and you might get a ticket. It’s hard to find parking spots in our area, so you should plan in some extra time. You can try to find street parking in the Kirchstraße or Vangerowstraße, or you might need to go to a nearby Parkhaus (e.g. P1 in the Poststraße) and walk from there.
