Swing 6
Advanced Must-Haves
Day & Time: Tuesday, 18:20 – 19:20
Dates: 24.05.2022 – 28.06.2022
This course is split into two halves: lindy hop sugar pushes and charleston swingouts. Both are classic moves and should be part of any advanced dancers’ repertoire. Along the way you’ll learn a lot of footwork variations, creating a new feeling and style in your dancing.
Each of these moves will come with its own fun variations, but this checklist shows the fundamental moves you’ll learn in the class. Once you know these, you’re ready to move on to the next level.
- lindy hop, sugar push: push-break, hovering, classic
- charleston swingout: basic, kick-step variations
The first half of the course requires footwork control and rhythm that builds off of Swing 4; in the second half, the Charleston experience from Swing 5 will pay off. Taking Swing 5 and Swing 6 in parallel can be a great option too.
We highly recommend people to take Swing 6 multiple times.

Here’s where Swing 6 takes place:
SwingStation Kurfürsten-Anlage 58
69115 Heidelberg
The entrance is on the eastern side of the building, reachable from the Kurfürsten-Anlage itself or from the Kirchstraße. Our studio is on the ground floor, at the end of the hall.
Public Transportation: many busses, streetcars, trains; stops “Hauptbahnhof” or “Stadtwerke”.
Parking: please do not park in the yard, the parking spaces don’t belong to us and you might get a ticket. It’s hard to find parking spots in our area, so you should plan in some extra time. You can try to find street parking in the Kirchstraße or Vangerowstraße, or you might need to go to a nearby Parkhaus (e.g. P1 in the Poststraße) and walk from there.
