Tranky Doo Workshop

Learn the classic solo routine that’s so popular at socials!

Samstag 29. April

Tranky Doo is a world-renowned solo jazz routine every Lindy Hopper should have in their repertoire. It combines basic jazz steps with energetic breaks and is super fun to dance with a crowd during parties.

You will learn the routine from scratch, but we will also work on technique and style to help you find your own way of dancing it.

You have at least a little experience with solo jazz. If this is your first time, it will be a real challenge 🙂

After the workshop, you’ve earned yourself a break, maybe a nice lunch nearby. Then, come back to the studio, and end the afternoon with a little time to practice and hang out together, where you can meet other dancers from our community. We’ll play music, dance, and enjoy a few hours together before going home with a big smile.

Here’s where the workshop will take place:

SwingStation Kurfürsten-Anlage 58
69115 Heidelberg

The entrance is on the eastern side of the building, reachable from the Kurfürsten-Anlage itself or from the Kirchstraße. Our studio is on the ground floor, at the end of the hall.

Public Transportation: many busses, streetcars, trains; stops “Hauptbahnhof” or “Stadtwerke”.

Parking: please do not park in the yard, the parking spaces don’t belong to us and you might get a ticket. It’s hard to find parking spots in our area, so you should plan in some extra time. You can try to find street parking in the Kirchstraße or Vangerowstraße, or you might need to go to a nearby Parkhaus (e.g. P1 in the Poststraße) and walk from there.
