Weekend Scoops
Ali’s Inspirations from 2004-2024

Day & Time: Saturday, 17:00 – 20:00

Dates: 24.08.2024 – 24.08.2024

Let Ali take you through his journey through twenty years of modern Lindy Hop! He’ll share with you some of the trends, and the concepts and dancers who shaped him.

For this session, you should have a solid Lindy Hop foundation, including classics like Swing Outs, Tuck Turns, and open position passbys.

Each session is a blend of class, practice, and hangout. You'll get inspired and challenged by the class content, you'll have time in between to practice and refine your skills, and you can also enjoy some hangout time in the studio - take a break, grab a snack, chat with other dancers.

During the practice times, your teacher is available to help - we can give you feedback, we can suggest other exercises, whatever you need to assist your training.

What's great about this concept is that we can be flexible - if the weather's hot, and we need more breaks, we'll take them. Or if we're in flow and want to keep training, we can do that too.

Here's an example of what it could look like:
17:00 - 17:30 Class
17:30 - 18:00 Practice
18:00 - 18:30 Class
18:30 - 20:00 Practice and Hangout

We have another new feature this year: ice cream! The studio will be stocked with frozen treats for us to enjoy when the weather's hot.

On the weekends we'll also provide a few other snacks - fruit, cookies, that sort of thing. You're of course very welcome to bring along some more snacks for yourself or to share 🙂

Here’s where Weekend Scoops takes place:

SwingStation Kurfürsten-Anlage 58
69115 Heidelberg

The entrance is on the eastern side of the building, reachable from the Kurfürsten-Anlage itself or from the Kirchstraße. Our studio is on the ground floor, at the end of the hall.

Public Transportation: many busses, streetcars, trains; stops “Hauptbahnhof” or “Stadtwerke”.

Parking: please do not park in the yard, the parking spaces don’t belong to us and you might get a ticket. It’s hard to find parking spots in our area, so you should plan in some extra time. You can try to find street parking in the Kirchstraße or Vangerowstraße, or you might need to go to a nearby Parkhaus (e.g. P1 in the Poststraße) and walk from there.
