How does it work?
Each session is a blend of class, practice, and hangout to adapt to weather, your energy and preferences.
During the practice times, your teacher is available to help – we can give you feedback, we can suggest other exercises, whatever you need to assist your training.
Here’s an example of what it could look like:
17:00 – 17:30 Class
17:30 – 18:00 Practice
18:00 – 18:30 Class
18:30 – 20:00 Practice and Hangout
Who can join?
Please check the individual descriptions below, because each topic has its own requirements.
The sessions are designed so that you will get a lot out of them, whether you’re very experienced or still pretty new to the dance. We’ll make sure you get the challenge you need.
What about the scoops?
We have another new feature this year: ice cream! The studio will be stocked with frozen treats for us to enjoy when the weather’s hot.
On the weekends we’ll also provide a few other snacks . You’re of course very welcome to bring along some more snacks for yourself or to share 🙂

Detailed Descriptions and Levels
It’s amazing to watch a great dancer doing even the most basic steps and combos, because they can transition so smoothly from one movement to the next. So let’s work on just that! We’ll dig into transitions: what are your options, what can you play with, how can you give your dancing more elegance and flow.
This is an open-level solo dance session. For newer dancers: you should have some prior experience with jazz dancing, but it doesn’t have to be a lot – for example if you take SwingStep classes then you’ve done solo in our warmups many times 😉 Experienced dancers: don’t worry you’ll get challenged too!
Play with rhythm, get inspired! Kris is just starting out on her tap journey, so she definitely doesn’t claim to be an expert. But she wants to share what she’s learned so far and help you get just as excited about tap as she is 🙂
This is an open-level solo dance session; no tap experience required!
No special shoes needed. Hard-soled shoes (e.g. leather) will make it easier to practice, running shoes will be a little trickier but you will still be able to get plenty of benefit from the class. If you do have tap shoes then of course you are welcome to wear them, but it’s not expected.
Make your dancing more creative, more exciting, and more playful. In this session you’ll practice becoming more responsive to the melody of the song that’s playing, and how you can use this to not only feel more musical yourself but also to connect better to your partner.
For this session, we recommend you have at least a few months’ experience dancing Lindy Hop – for instance having done Lindy Hop Starter Kit, Lindy Hop Fundamentals and Tucks & Turns with us. The specific moves you’ve learned are not important, but you should feel comfortable with a basic Lindy Hop repertoire. If you’re not sure if the course is right for you, please feel free to ask us!
In this session, Ali and Kris will challenge you with some move combos that are fun but tricky. You’ll learn how to be your own coach: what to focus on first, how to pick out what’s most important, and how to play with them to make them your own.
For this session, you should have a solid Lindy Hop foundation, including classics like Swing Outs, Tuck Turns, and open position passbys.
Let Ali take you through his journey through twenty years of modern Lindy Hop! He’ll share with you some of the trends, and the concepts and dancers who shaped him.
For this session, you should have a solid Lindy Hop foundation, including classics like Swing Outs, Tuck Turns, and open position passbys.
This is a teacher’s choice session – Ali will choose a technical topic, and you’ll go deep! Into partnering and connection, into rhythm and balance, … who knows? You’ll have to come to find out 😉
